This is a customized version of a dual color/extrusion Prusa i3 with a Cyclops hotend (single nozzle) designed for users who want to utilize PLA and HIPS as support materials. That printer was created for individuals seeking to combine these two materials, despite the fact that they don't mix well. After conducting numerous tests, I successfully printed both PLA and HIPS "correctly." The Cyclops hotend is not ideal for printing with PLA; to prevent continuous jamming, I had to use a very short retraction setting of only 3mm. In contrast, when printing with HIPS, I could employ retraction settings up to 9mm. To print both materials efficiently, the temperature was set at 210°, and the bed temperature remained at 65°. As mentioned earlier, combining PLA and HIPS is not the most effective combination due to their distinct properties. However, as demonstrated here, it is possible to achieve success with this setup.
