Uploaded 08-02-2016 Update Pictures! 08-03-2016 Coming Soon: Assembly update The perfect fit for those looking to expand their print bed and not the extrusion carriage on the classic Prusa I3 base model. Using Mak-a-faces (& MiguelPyntos Remix) clever and compact design, I based an entirely new compact direct drive extruding system to complement his design. Running into aesthetic problems, I decided to throw this .stl file into Tinkercad (one of the only places that lets you edit .stl files) and flange out the sides to accommodate my extruder! The carriage itself holds three LM8UU linear ball bearings firmly in place, while allowing a small amount of play between jogging left and right. This carriage looks and works well with a custom direct drive extruder. The GT2 belt grips are spot on accurate (as long as your printer is accurate ; ) and will not need any assistance holding them even when moving at speed greater than 200mm/s. The belt also has a sleek wrap around, fitting the unconnected side very nicely into the part.
