Prusa i3 compact extruder
pinshape
Summary Not created by me, but adapted from a design by Kliment. The best way to get it is directly from the source: https://github.com/sgraber/i3ext. However, some people asked me to provide a simple printable version, which you can find below. You can see the device working here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fu9SWw5dcGk Instructions The provided STL file includes the four essential pieces that make up the extruder. Additionally, you will need: A 62mm long M5 rod. One nut (a locking-nut is recommended, but a drop of super-glue worked for me). Two 625 bearings. A drive gear. A 608 bearing and a 20mm M8 rod for the idler. A J-head hotend. Two 30mm M3 screws and nuts to secure the hotend. Note that the small gear is designed specifically for use with a shaft featuring a flat surface. It will fit snugly without requiring a grub screw. If your motor lacks a flat surface, you will need to drill out the gear bore to make it round.
