Prusa I3 Clone Dual Extruder (Modified)
thingiverse
Hi All, So after finding this brilliant design for a Dual Extrusion setup for Prusa Printers, i thought i'd give it a go with my Prusa Clone (GeeeTech i3) For the most part everything fit the way it should with the Carriage Slider however i didn't want to move the entire frame of the printer out so i designed a nice looking spacer, designed to allow NEMA Motors with a depth of 34mm to clear the printers frame (.stl File included) Got around to printing the Dual Extruder Mount, and noticed my slicer was having trouble with the arm mounts in the middle of the model - so went in and changed the underside to a simple rectangle that can be snapped out as a support (Updated .stl also included) So the last change was the Idle Bearing Brackets - from what i could tell it looked like they were designed to hold the Prusa i3 Bearing and a hobbed gear however being a clone printer i have a grooved bearing and a simple copper gear, so i had to adjust the model of the bearing bracket to allow these to fit snugly inside the dual extrusion housing (.stl File included) Edit (18/2/29): Redesigned the BLTouch Mount on the previous design to go in front of the two hot-ends rather then to the side, allowing side mounted fans or ducts All objects i printed were at 45% infill and have been very sturdy No instructions were given with the original model for this extruder setup so i have just been experimenting as i go and if anyone would like some direction feel free to ask!
