Prusa I3 Bowden Drive Frame Mount
thingiverse
Needed a way to mount my Bowden drive to my Prusa I3 with a 6.5mm aluminum frame, so I thought long and hard about where to put the excellent compact mount Schlotzz designed. This is what I came up with. Designed for this compact bowden extruder drive mount by Schlotzz http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:275593 You will need 2 M3 X 8 or 10mm screws to attach the bowden drive to the mount. You will also need 2 M3 X 12 or longer to have sufficient length on the back of your frame to use M3 nuts and washers. Some zip ties are required to tie up your stepper motor cabling along the top of the frame, which I did to reduce possible interference from running it next to the power supply that is right below this mount on my version of the I3. My printer is an Original Prusa I3 by Joseph Prusa. I'm not sure if it will accommodate other designs, but it might be a good place to start for your printer! It puts the motor and filament feed far enough away from my frame that it will provide a good setup. Printed at 1.2mm perimeters with 20% infill in PLA using Cura to slice. The result turned out just how I wanted it to! Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: ORIGINAL Prusa I3 - Joseph Prusa Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .20 Infill: 20%
