Prusa I3 Bolt-On Y Tensioner For M8 Rods With 608zz Bearings
thingiverse
Here is a replacement Y-axis tensioner for your Prusa I3 that can be easily bolted on without unboltting your entire base frame. This design utilizes M4 screws and nuts, 2 x 608 bearings, and 8 mm threaded rods. Use it at your own risk as I haven't printed this part yet. **Updated Version** The latest version (V1.1) includes several key improvements. Two of the original M4 holes have been replaced with stronger M8 threads to provide better tension and stability. The width has also been reduced, allowing for a single 608zz bearing and two washers instead of two 608 bearings. This design was created using Tinkercad and can be edited online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/2P5hISoYSJ7. **Recommended Print Settings** * Printer: RepRap Prusa I3 * Rafts: Doesn't matter, but a raft can help prevent warping. * Supports: You don't need to use supports as this design is self-supporting. * Resolution: A minimum of 0.2 mm layer height is recommended for optimal quality and structural integrity. * Infill: For strength and durability, infill should be at least 30% or higher. You are free to adjust these print settings according to your printer's specifications and your desired outcome.
