Prusa i3 Bear Upgrade v2.0 Injection Molded Anti-Vibration Feet System
thingiverse
I built these to work seamlessly with my Prusa i3 Bear Full Upgrade printer that I designed myself. The Bear is a top-notch design, but its rigidity means it's quite loud when using old-school step-sticks. These feet utilize the silicone injection mold making method showcased in ScottyMakesStuff's video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iZ8L1HDubY. I found his recipe worked flawlessly and was easy to execute with readily available silicon from my local hardware store. I conducted sample tests, varying the mix until I achieved a firm setting that met my requirements. The mold consists of two halves that assemble using M3 screws and nuts, along with a plate that fits snugly inside the mold. The assembly is straightforward since it only fits in one way. When silicone is injected, it mechanically mates with the plate. After setting, you can remove the resulting part from the mold, revealing a nice little foot that can be placed under the feet of the Bear. It's designed to fit snugly, as seen in the picture. The black part represents the silicone, while the red part is made of PLA.
