When we acquired a black Prusa I3 printer, it didn't come with a base for the roll of PLA filament. To fix this, we needed to design and attach a base that holds the filament in place for the extruder. The pieces we designed fit on top of the printer and feature a sturdy arm to hold a stud and a clip. These pieces are attached using screws and nuts, eliminating the need to drill into the printer itself.
