Prusa Filament Spooler
thingiverse
Printer-mounted and desktop versions of this design are available, inspired by TUSH. The current version can handle spools up to 70mm in width, though a recent discovery revealed one spool of filament at 90mm, which poses an interesting challenge. Assembling it is easy, as either snapping the pieces together or gluing them will suffice. It's also essential to use real 608 bearings (4) for optimal performance; however, if these are not available, printed versions can be used instead, though 40 additional bb's would then be required. The printer-mounted version sits comfortably atop my Prusa i3 Mk2, while the desktop version offers flexibility in its positioning, whether flat or canted forward, allowing users to choose their preferred stance. An aggressive forward lean is particularly appealing.
