Prusa face shield RC2 remix for A4 transparencies

thingiverse

This is a remix of the Prusa Face Shield RC2. The original requires a custom laser cut sheet to manufacture the shield. The remix works with standard A4 overhead transparencies that many of us have in drawers and can easily order. The only change from the original is moving the outer two pins inward by 1.5cm, allowing an A4-sized transparency mounted with the short side on the headband. Note: This will decrease coverage by 1.5cm on each side. It's up to you to accept this risk. I take no responsibility for anyone using this remix. If you decide to use this remix, print it using the same print settings as the original. I've only printed with PLA, so that was used to print the thing and it works well. Cut the transparency by 5cm to a length of 25cm along the long edge; otherwise, it is too long and you may have problems looking down. I also added a stencil for marking hole positions. Since the shield is narrower, use an ISO 838 80mm or larger punch to make holes. Place the stencil on the short edge of the A4 transparency, draw slit positions on the transparency with a permanent marker, and use the lines as a guide to punch holes. You can use the original bottom reinforcement without punching any holes; transparencies are thin enough that the reinforcement just slides on and stays due to friction. Follow the assembly instructions to assemble this thing! Order transparencies from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=overhead+projector+sheets
