Prusa Cable Support
thingiverse
The thickest and heaviest Prusa cable, the extruder cable, sags over time due to its weight. This causes it to drag on the print bed, potentially looping over and catching the heater bed cable. There are several fixes for this issue: 1. Secure a string to the cable and support it from the Prusa stand's cross beam. 2. Upgrade to an MK2S setup. 3. Print a custom cable fix. My solution is by far the best, in my opinion. This is a final fix that doesn't require removing wires or extensive rework. Simply print the part, open the Rambo box (one bolt to unscrew), cut the zip tie holding the cable at the Rambo box, slide in the support - now called the 'Dangle Preventer' - replace the zip tie, and secure another zip tie around the cable and the Dangle Preventer. Close up your Rambo box and you're done. The Dangle Preventer will give your equipment a sleek look. Impressive it will be when friends come over to see what you've got! I printed mine with PETG Black but would have preferred Daisy Yellow. But wait, there's more: if you print it now, you can get another one for the same cost and receive a free subscription to Thingiverse for 1 year! *Warning: The Dangle Preventer is not an FDA-approved medical device.
