Prusa Bear MK2 Y-axis Linear Rails
thingiverse
As the title says, this is a linear rail mod specifically designed for the MK2 Bear frame's Y-axis. I was inspired by JuanPuchol's design but unfortunately it's only compatible with the MK3 frame. The MK2 frame has shorter Y-axis extrusions and the bearings on the left side of the bed are very close to the frame, which limits the print surface to 210mm. This issue made me decide to create my own mod. In essence, I moved the left side MGN12C blocks closer together to increase the total bed travel distance, and I designed new rail holders that allow the bed to reach a little over 210mm in total travel. I also used Grégoire Saunier's MK2 rod holder width so the same measurements from his build guide can be used when assembling. This makes aligning the rails very easy - just follow this step of the guide when assembling. Assembly notes: * The rails must be cut to 309-311mm. * The left side MGN12C blocks need to be installed with the closest proximity possible. Update: 2019-07-13: I added MGN12C block carriers for the MK2 Y carriage since this mod is specifically designed for the MK2 Bear frame. Thanks to Olof on Facebook for pointing out the discrepancy. Note that I haven't had a chance to print and test fit these yet. I also included Fusion 360 source files.
