Prusa Bear Linear rail modification with single rail x axis
thingiverse
So, this is my take on a Linear Rail Prusa Bear. I'm going to keep adding details, but since there's already interest from people who want it now, here are the basics. Works with factory firmware and has the same build volume as stock. You'll need these parts: Three 350mm MGN12 linear rails with MGN12H carriages. One 350mm MGN12 linear rail with two MGN12C carriages. One 400mm MGN12 linear rail with an MGN12H carriage. A lot of pieces in the x carriage use M3 threaded heat set inserts, and I really like these ones: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B077CJV3Z9. They're way better than the cheap ones. I highly recommend using genuine Gates belts with Gates idler/pulleys because they're a bit wider than generic ones, which is what I designed these parts for. Also, once you cut your belts to size, use superglue to attach them to the belt retainer clips so they don't slip out. I'll be adding more information to this over time, including details on required hardware and instructions. Update 28Apr2020: - Added a .step file of the assembly so you can measure it or modify parts as needed. - Added a y build helper for 2020's/rails.
