This is an exact replica of the 3rd generation tremolo system found on Paul Reed Smith guitars. It's a fully functional model, complete with threaded screws, precision-adjusted saddles, saddle springs, tremolo arm grub screw, tremolo springs, and pivot screws. The pivot screws are carefully cut to match the body mounting points, providing an easy connection. Modeled in SolidWorks and rendered using KeyShot. From the Paul Reed Smith website: In 1984, Paul Reed Smith was awarded a patent for his innovative tremolo system. The design is straightforward yet distinctive, drawing inspiration from traditional fulcrum tremolos but with notable differences. At the front of a PRS bridge, six mounting screw holes are countersunk from underneath, creating six brass knife-edge fulcrums that rest against notched brass body mounting screws. This precise setup ensures the bridge returns to pitch after use. The pocket in the tremolo bridge keeps individually adjustable saddles firmly in place, eliminating another common cause of tuning instability. The tremolo block is carefully drilled out so ball ends sit directly under the bridge base plate, leaving minimal string behind the saddle and reducing detuning risks. This design features no rough edges. The bridge is crafted from brass, a metal renowned for its exceptional tone quality. Key components such as the intonation screws, height-adjustment screws, and string slots on the saddles are left un-plated to enhance sustain and fidelity of tone. The tremolo arm fits snugly into a hard plastic sleeve, secured by a small set screw located on the side of the bridge facing the tail end of the guitar. This clever mechanism prevents the arm from wobbling or breaking off in the block.
