I accidentally burnt out the spindle motor on my mf-70 while milling steel due to a stalling incident that produced smoke. Fortunately, I had a spare Turnigy 2217 860kv 22A brushless motor from my quadcopter for replacement. The new motor clicks into the spinning body and fits the stock rubber coupling. Initially, I considered milling a metal part to enhance strength, but it seems sturdy enough. To assemble, clean the parts with a scalpel, insert the rubber coupling, and place on the spindle. For now, I temporarily attached the motor using the provided mounting plate, cable ties, heat shrink, and bolts until a permanent fixture is milled or 3D printed. The makeshift setup surprisingly works well.
