Proxxon MF-70 brushless motor coupling

Proxxon MF-70 brushless motor coupling

I recently suffered a spindle motor failure on my mf-70 while milling steel, which didn't exactly boost my confidence in its quality - it stalled, emitted some smoke, and then died completely. Luckily, I had a spare turnigy 2217 860kv 22A brushless motor from my quadcopter that I decided to swap out for the stock brushed motor. This new motor clicks securely into place within the spinning body of the spindle assembly and features a hole that perfectly accommodates the original rubber coupling. Initially, I planned to machine a metal reinforcement part right away, but so far this setup seems to be holding up just fine.
