Proxxon MB140S laser module mount
thingiverse
Slides over the Proxxon MB140S drill stand to allow two laser line modules to project a cross at the drill point, making it significantly easier to align your work. The standard HLM1230 laser modules are used (search for "5v laser line" and you'll find them). Two line modules instead of one cross module ensure the cross remains on the same spot regardless of height. The mount is kept in place with the stand's tightening handle on one side, around the handle to prevent pressure on the mount itself, and an optional M5 bolt on the other side to prevent warping. Designed using Blender, I've included the original file for you to enjoy! Print Settings Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.15mm Infill: N/A Notes: Printed upside-down using CraftWare, adding supports for the large overhanging structures and the bridges between the laser modules. Supports were also added to the middle of each laser module for the small downwards pointing stops. Post-Printing Cleaning up After removing the supports, I used a file to clean up the inside, which was necessary for a proper fit. The laser module mounts were a bit tight, but removing the warning label from the laser module resulted in a perfect fit. Just remember not to stare into the laser with your remaining eye and you'll be fine. Laser modules The fiddly little stops at the end allow you to still rotate the lens with a pair of pliers while it's in place (best to keep them powered off while doing so!). Focusing is done by rotating the module while keeping the lens in place. Wire both laser modules up to 5V and you're all set!
