Provided Air Respirator Unit
thingiverse
This is a DIY Air Respirator unit I designed from scratch, and am making available in public domain! It was inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, and while I strongly advise against its use for health safety reasons, you are free to make your own decisions. When sealed properly with blue painters tape, there should be no leaks before or after the filters. I saw a couple of other designs on Thingiverse but was not satisfied, so I created my own! This is intended just to provide a basic air filtration system, but I included a printable mask too. You will need: AC Infinity MULTIFAN S2 $16 4 x 6-32 x 2" bolts plus nuts or m3 x 2.5cm bolts plus nuts 2 Roomba 960 compatible filters ($2.33 each, normally HEPA certified. Make sure you burn a filter and it melts. If it melts, it's plastic. If not, it means it's fiberglass, and I strongly advise against using fiberglass in inhalation applications) 72" CPAP tube $7 ~600g PLA Blue painters tape (for sealing the unit) Cotton string (for a carrying strap and for mask straps) Recommended 40% infill Total cost: under $40 This is public domain, and includes the FreeCAD source file.
