Prototypes of sponge electrodes for transcranial direct current stimulation are being developed. The prototypes require a 1 cm strip of cotton elastic. For the 5x5 sponges, they must be soaked in a salt solution. The internal surface should be covered with aluminum foil to create the desired conductive pathway. These prototypes have not been tested yet and should not be used as a medical device.
