ProtoTank Mods
thingiverse
Remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:972768 by timmiclark The tank tracks are meant to be printed in TPU. I have posted one set of 16 tracks, a full set would need four copies of the print. In order to merge them, what worked for me is to use a temperature controlled solder iron, set it to 300C and comb over the merged tracks. you can merge the entire track off of the tank, then slip it unto the tank motor cogs after bonding. I used a 95a tpu. One thing of note, the tracks were not as flexible as i wanted. to fix this is squeezed the track as though it were rotating on the cogs, and cut along the connection on the male end track. The last photo shows how i held it, and where i ran a 300c soldering iron across it to help it flex better when rounding the end cogs. The two frame accessories are for merging additional offsets to the frame, the flat piece will sit overtop two of the four longest rectangles on the top frame on the original tank. Note, the edge piece will need more 30mm brass standoffs then used in the original print. Attached i have the DeWalt battery holder i designed, while not perfect, it works. You will have to melt in your own metal pieces that mount to the DeWalt battery, I used a soldering iron, it worked great. You will need some a buck converter to make this work with your Arduino. Do I recommend you do what I did? NO, but if you want to try then GL.
