Proton Pack Guitar Stand Mount
thingiverse
This is a proton pack mounting bracket for a tripod style guitar stand. It replaces the U-shaped guitar neck support with a bracket that supports the top of a proton pack's alice frame. It's super sturdy and prevents the pack from moving side to side or back and forth, but makes it easier to lift straight up to remove the pack from the stand. This will fit a 19mm OD pipe, as was the diameter of the guitar stand I had. The hole could be resized to fit a different diameter. The bracket is designed to fit an alice frame with neck foam. The outer diameter of my neck foam is about 50-55mm, but other sizes should still fit. You will need to use a pipe cutter or hack saw to remove the U-shaped guitar neck support so you are left with a straight piece of pipe to install the bracket on with a friction fit on 19mm pipe, no glue necessary. Use the set screw on the guitar stand to adjust the height of the bracket then place the pack on the stand in a downward motion so that the bottom of the pack rests on the base supports and the neck foam sits evenly in the bracket. Make sure the straps are free on either side of the bracket. Print on side with supports 0.2 layer height 50% or more infill. Please note: I have my pack on this stand and I am very confident in it to support my pack which is at least 35lbs. If your pack weighs more or are concerned with your print quality, or the quality in your guitar stand, take caution. Use this design at your own risk, I'm not responsible for any damage to your pack. That said, I feel my pack is safer on this stand than it was before. UPDATE: the guitar stand I used is "On Stage" brand model XCG-4. I also tried a this on a cheaper GLEAM brand from Amazon. Which was also 19mm pipe, but is much thinner walled pipe is is not good for this purpose. If you are interested in this build, I'd suggest the "On Stage" brand. UPDATE 5/27/2021: Per request, adding version for 22mm OD pipe.
