Protectron 3D Printing Model | Assembly + Action

ABOUT THIS 3D MODELProtectron is a widespread type of work drone with a programmable personality that appears in a number of Fallout video game installments. Designed by a highly influential computer and robotics corporation in the pre-War United States, RobCo Industries, it was created to serve humans as an inexpensive and efficient labor machine. Inspired by the versatile robot encountered in the grim post-apocalyptic world of the game, our contributing 3D artist reportedly spent 193 hours to recreate the fan favourite Protectron for your 3D printing collection. The model pays tribute to the robot’s minimalistic exterior design notable for the smooth rounded shapes of the drone’s thin alloyed shell and dome-like head. The bipedal droid is equipped with a pair of manipulators that help it fulfill its mundane duties or act as a tool of self-defense. 3D printing Protectron’s body is intricately textured, capturing the weathered state of the machine that functions even after the world has collapsed. Just like RobCo Industries, our 3D modeler offers you various modifications of the droid to serve your needs: Regular Protectron, Fire Brigadier, Police Protectron, Protectron Medic, and Utility Protectron. The modes can be switched with the help of role-specific heads with corresponding logos engraved on the faceplate, as well as with the help of designated arm variants. In addition to all of the awesome variations, Protectron model also comes with its maintenance and charging chamber that is known as Protectron Pod. The chamber is going to be a perfect platform to store your chosen 3D printed Protectron personality! ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTINGProtectron model for 3D printing is a highly articulated assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 55 hours in total. In order to ensure the multidirectional movement of the robot, the model was divided into many assembly parts and special mechanisms were introduced into all model’s joints to give you an opportunity to display Protectron in a variety of positions. In order for you to achieve the cleanest 3D printed result possible, Protectron’s interchangeable hands, heads, dome visors, visor bars, the rear engine, parts comprising the central processing unit, etc. are provided as separate assembly parts. The model’s rear engine and central processing unit can be mounted into all available variations of Protectron’s body and head. The Protectron Pod, as well as its base, are divided into several parts to fit the build plates of the average 3D printers. All assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and so that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. We highly recommend that you watch "Assembly video" in the photo preview section before assembling the model and to see the directions and the way that the robot’s joints move in. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA/SLS 1.0 versions in PDF format. The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown. The model's scale was calculated from the average height of Protectron that is 1750 mm. The 3D printing model's chosen scale is 1/8 for FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for DLP/SLA/SLS version.VERSIONS' SPECIFICATIONSFFF/FDM 1.0 version features:- Contains 115 parts;- A single printed Protectron stands 228 mm tall, 147 mm wide, 114 mm deep;- The Protectron Pod is 287 mm tall, 186 mm wide, 186 mm deep;- Assembly kit includes lock 100_Ge_lock_x22_10H to attach the model's parts securely without glue that needs to be printed 22 times;- The robot comes with 5 alternative heads and can be assembled in 5 variants: 1.
