Lock Designed to Protect Children from Climbing Upstairs Safely. This lock is designed specifically for Ø 8 mm stainless steel rods, with the middle rod securely epoxied to the carriage for added stability. To minimize noise when the lock engages, four rubber O-Rings are strategically used. The lock was engineered to accommodate a 10 mm travel range between open and closed positions, compatible with 38x38 mm wood beams featuring M3 threaded inserts. Assembly Procedure: 1. Securely fasten the housing in place using 4 wood screws (note that this step cannot be completed with the rods already inserted). 2. Insert the outer Ø 8 mm rods a short distance into the housing, leaving them protruding slightly inside. 3. Install the two front O-Rings. 4. Insert the carriage assembly. 5. Place the spring mechanism in position. 6. Gradually slide the outer Ø 8 mm rods until they reach the end of the carriage, allowing for... 7. The insertion of the two rear O-Rings. 8. Continue sliding the rods to their fully extended position. 9. Securely close the housing with the cover and 4 M3x8 screws. Important Note: Depending on the length of the middle rod, it may be necessary to enlarge the central hole in order to facilitate the insertion of the carriage into the housing.
