Protective Goggles (non-foldable)
thingiverse
The protective goggles were created to safeguard medical workers or other individuals who risk getting infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes the COVID-19 disease. They offer an alternative to face shields. This design utilizes a 3D-printed frame with a shield cut out from transparent PVC sheet and an optional nose piece. 1. Frame of the goggles In order to be flexible, it needs to be printed from PETG. Due to its slim proportions, it requires a 2mm Brim. 2. Nose piece This part is optional. It can be printed from PETG or another flexible material. If you are wearing a face mask or respirator, then you don't need this part. 3. Plastic shield These goggles use transparent PVC sheet of 0.15mm thickness (Binding covers). The shield needs to be cut out according to the Template. The template can be printed by a 3D printer or printed on an A4 sheet. If you have trouble getting the shield in frame, try cutting 1mm from the sides. Don't forget the small cutouts on the sides, which are there to prevent the shield from falling out of frame. You can adjust the nose cutout to suit your needs. If someone needs the frame and nose piece with a wider gap for a thicker shield, please leave a comment and I will upload the file as soon as possible. IMPORTANT NOTICE!!! THESE GOGGLES DO NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH PROTECTION WHILE WORKING WITH POWER TOOLS!!! THEY ARE INTENDED TO REDUCE THE RISK OF GETTING COVID-19 DISEASE. This project was initiated by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava to help combat COVID-19.
