Protective Face Shield Headband
thingiverse
I drew inspiration from several other designs, including the Prusa design, that nearly worked for me and crafted this with a better fit and more comfortable width. This design is optimized to use an 8.5" x 11" sheet, which can be easily punched with a standard US 3-hole punch pattern. I've successfully used plastic sheets sold as "report covers" (0.007") thick through 0.040" thick sheets with this design. For the back of the headband, I use elastic or #64 rubber bands. This design prints without a brim on my printer, but I've included a version with mouse ears in case you experience trouble with corner adhesion. I print this with ABS for its durability and flexibility. To help you modify the design, I've included the Solidworks files. If you're using a Prusa MK3S, you can use the Prusa Slicer projects or the provided gcode files directly. These prints take about 2 hours to complete. I've added Version 3, which features larger elastic connection points and circles at the ends of the shield – both of these enhancements improve end adhesion with ABS. In Version 4, I've made the front connection thicker and smoothed out the fillets for a more refined design.
