Protective Face Shield COVID-19
thingiverse
I am creating a protective face shield that is easy to make. With my printer and the settings I've set up, I can print two bands per hour. I use write-on transparency films (see pictures) and a three-hole punch to create holes in the bands. The template for the hole pattern has also been uploaded online. You need to go through the hole punch twice. The first time is with the standard 3-hole pattern. The second time, move the two end sliders to the outer edge of the 2 3/4-inch center mark (see pictures). If the band is too large or you want it to stick better to your head, you can hook a medium-sized rubber band around the two hooks on the back of the band. I've also uploaded the standard 3-hole punch version in case you have a hole punch that doesn't let you move the hole locations. The screen may not stay in place as well and tends to twist a little, but it still contours to the face. To assemble: 1. Take one transparency film and align the center hole first. 2. Align the two holes on the front of the band. 3. Pull the film a bit to clip it around the holes on the side of the headband (there are small notches to hold the film). This design has been modified from 3DVerkstan https://3dverkstan.se/protective-visor/.
