Protective Face Shield - Clips/no hole punch needed

This is a remix of the high speed print version of the Prusa Protective Face Shield. It uses 3d printed clips eliminating the need to punch holes in the plastic sheet.

The clips are slid onto the frame over the plastic to hold it in place and can be slid to the side a little where the frame gradually widens to add more tension if needed.

I also included an adapter to use regular elastic for the headband if you can't source the buttonhole elastic. The adapter is someone else's design that I can't remember where I sourced it from.

As noted on the original Prusa Protective Face Shield design:

If you want to manufacture shields for others
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY

Act as if you were infected by the COVID-19 virus. Wear a face mask and a fresh pair of gloves when collecting each batch of printed parts. Store the parts immediately in a sealable bag.

Talk with whoever you’re making the shields for, let them know about your manufacturing environment

There is still debate about how long the virus survives on plastic, but most sources mention 2-3 days. That means that by letting the packed face shields sit for 2-3 days before distributing them, you’ll greatly reduce risk of transmission

Do not store the entire stock in one place, minimize the risk of cross contamination

Print instructions

The frame takes about an hour to print with a 6mm nozzle, layer height at 0.3, and the line width set to 0.65.

The clips need to be printed strong. I print these in PLA+ with a 4mm nozzle, layer height set to 0.25, and line width set to 0.5.
