Protanium Controller Box
thingiverse
This is a custom-built model of the controller box for a Protanium e-bike set. Spare parts are scarce in the USA, and my controller box shattered into numerous fragments. It's not an exact replacement; you will need: * Four (4) longer, M5 55mm bolts * Four (4) M5 nuts that fit snugly into the wells on the top piece. * The original had some molded-in brass inserts in the plastic, which I replicated using advanced materials science techniques. * Two (2) countersunk M4 6mm machine screws for the bottom cover. The plastic rivets might still work, but mine were damaged beyond repair. * One (1) standard size -141 o-ring for the gasket groove around the battery connection. The original gasket was bonded to the piece with a strong adhesive; this replacement will stay in place due to friction alone. * To drill out or tap the holes for the screws in the battery connection cover, pilots are included. 2019-02-02: I deepened the nut wells for the bolts to make assembly even easier. 2019-01-28: I changed the nut wells to M5, matching the originals. 2019-01-25: After receiving a printout and reviewing it, I made some crucial changes: * Increased the object's overall length by 1 mm to match the original. * Reinforced the lower shell floor to prevent flexing. * Extended the wells on the top shell to ensure a secure fit. * Drilled screw holes for counter-sunk screws in the cover. * Made minor adjustments to improve the pieces' interlocking mechanism.
