Prosthetic of the future

Prosthetic of the future

thingiverse

We are Niels and Max, two Dutch students of Health Technology/Human Movement Technology from The Hague University of Applied Sciences. In our third year of studies, we launched this project after attending a seminar called "Prosthetics from the Future." During that session, we witnessed a prosthesis controlled by muscle activity. The lecturer was able to play guitar and pick up tiny objects with ease. However, one major drawback of such prosthetic limbs is their exorbitant cost. A hand like this typically costs around 50,000 euros. Inspired by the rapidly evolving world of 3D printing and affordable electronics like Arduino, we embarked on a mission to design and develop an EMG-controlled hand that's budget-friendly.
