ProSlider Mini
thingiverse
This slider is a highly portable and versatile tool that can be effortlessly mounted on a tripod for maximum stability. It utilizes 8mm smooth rods and LM8UU bearings to ensure seamless movement and precise control. A comprehensive assembly video will soon be available, providing users with a clear understanding of how to assemble this innovative device. The slider's design is cleverly engineered to allow for twice the travel in half the size, making it an ideal choice for capturing stunning footage on the go. Its compact size means it easily fits into any tripod bag, making it perfect for filmmakers and photographers who need a reliable and portable solution. For this project, I utilized PropsFactory's 3D printable linear bearings, which can be found on Thingiverse under the reference number 24990. While these bearings work adequately for this particular application, I would recommend investing in higher-quality linear bearings to ensure maximum durability and stability. This is especially important when working with heavier cameras, as it will allow users to capture high-quality footage without worrying about the slider's ability to support the weight. Optional modifications can be made to enhance the slider's performance. Drilling and tapping the ends of the rods in the end blocks can help keep the device sturdy and straight. I opted for screws found in my garage, but users may need to experiment with different types to achieve optimal results. When it comes to the pulleys, par cord works well, but users can also consider using belts if available. It's essential to choose a material that is not elastic to ensure smooth and precise movement. I'm thrilled to share some amazing footage captured using this slider, which showcases its incredible capabilities. From stunning landscapes to dynamic action shots, this device is sure to deliver exceptional results.
