The powered HO scale rerailer from Proses / Bachmann comes with a support stand for accessing areas of a layout where switches (points) or curves require tilting the ramp a bit to ensure reliable operation. However, the stand from the manufacturer tips over rather easily. This improved base from Fentress Imagineering has a wide footprint for stability and a tapered profile to reduce print time as well in either filament or resin. No supports are needed for this item. A fixed end cap and a hinged end gate make this powered rerailer into a handy cassette for transferring not only locomotives, but other rolling stock onto and off of a layout safely. The Proses (Bachmann in North America) powered rerailer lets you easily drive locomotives on and off of the ramp under their own power, a particularly useful on steam locomotives which have quite a few wheels to set on the track.
