Propeller Toy
grabcad
Introducing a 3D printable toy designed for kids to learn engineering concepts! This model can be printed using Stratasys printers with water soluble supports, ensuring easy assembly of its handle and spinner. The toy has been used to demonstrate flow analysis, stress analysis, and plastic injection molding prediction analyses, although it's not actually designed for injection molding. With a small rope and a touch of lightweight oil at the shaft-handle connection, the propeller can fly over 100'. If curious about my SOLIDWORKS model, I initially built the propeller blade incorrectly for counter-clockwise spin. Instead of redoing all sketches, I mirrored the blade and used surfacing tools to connect it back to the hub. Have fun!
