Propeller (Drone)
grabcad
A propeller is a dynamic device featuring a spinning hub and radial blades angled to form a spiral shape, reminiscent of Archimedes' legendary screw. As it rotates, the propeller converts rotational energy into linear propulsion by interacting with a surrounding fluid like water or air. The rotating motion of the blades generates a pressure gradient between opposing surfaces, resulting in thrust. A given mass of working fluid is accelerated in one direction while the vessel moves in the opposite direction due to this action. Propeller dynamics, much like those of aircraft wings, can be accurately modeled using Bernoulli's principle and Newton's third law. Most marine propellers are screw-style propellers with helical blades rotating around a nearly horizontal axis or propeller shaft.
