Propane OPD Type-1 Valve Dust Cover - Customizable (Remixed)
thingiverse
[Update: It was trivial to change up OpenSCAD to use dacmill4's original cap with the hole, so I have now added a) the updated OpenSCAD script for that, b) another blank cap with a hole (needed by the OpenSCAD script) and c) a PART ("partial") cap now with a hole.] Remix of dacmill4's original Type-1 OPD propane valve cover. I needed some additional labels for my own tanks, as well as a cover with no label. I started with dacmill4's STL without the handle hole since my own use case is for individual caps, rather than as a linked set. However, I did go ahead and create a "PART" (for "partial") labelled cap shown on dacmill4's Thing but not present in those Thing files. If I find some more time, I'll see about creating a PART cap with a hole matching dacmill4's original set. Some usage notes: To change the label, you can modify the OpenSCAD source. I have included different font options for sufficiently heavy sans serif fonts on Linux, Mac, and Windows (I did the remixing on an Ubuntu workstation.) This Thing might open OK in Customizer, but I haven't tried it because of the potential font issues (I'm not sure how to force Thingiverse to use an Arial Bold sans serif equivalent.) I suspect for most folks the additional STL's will prove sufficient along with dacmill4's originals, but for anyone who simply must have their own personalized dust cap labels, the ability is now there. Helpful Hint: If your slicer ever has trouble with an STL exported from OpenSCAD, send the STL through a repair app or cloud repair service to assure the mesh is valid. P.S. "OOS" means "Out Of Service"
