Prop Thrust Meter

Prop Thrust Meter

My previous post warned you about being careful with rotating props, so proceed at your own risk! My latest creation is a thrust scale capable of measuring up to 5lbs of thrust (with 40% fill) before the arms begin to flex excessively. To ensure a safe and accurate measurement, make sure to mount the scale on a heavy board and use a clamp if needed. I accidentally used 40% fill, but recommend using 100% for stiffer arms. Remember to clear the holes in the arms for smooth spinning without excessive friction. Additionally, long arms are used to prevent airflow interference and allow for easy adjustment of pivot points for measuring larger forces. Keep an eye out for a cradle design I'll be sharing soon to keep the motor side of the arm secure.
