For the Halloween trick or treat tour of my daughter, who wanted to be a pirate lady, she needed a sword. For the hilt and crossbar, parts by captchemo are used. As I wanted it to be fully 3D printed, I designed a blade, which is 33 cm long, to fit the diagonal of a 26x26cm printer. To make sure the 8-10 year olds cause no damage by it, it has rectangular cross section, and blade sides are 8mm wide and flat. I printed the crossbar using no name coffee-colored ABS, grip using black ABS, and blade using grey PLA, all remaining from the commercial 3d printing projects. After sanding, i dipped ABS parts in acetone, and then pushed them onto the PLA blade. As dried, ABS parts stuck to PLA and to each other very well. As the top of the grip detached when removing it from the brim, I patched it using some red ABS raft remains, and 3D pen also with red ABS. Often, back side was used to stun captives for ransom by pirates, so blood traces would be ok there ;) Print - ABS on Creality Ender 3 with Microswiss Extruder PLA on Intamsys Funmat Enhanced HT 15% infill, double shell.
