Because I needed custom-made propeller shields tailored to my specific model and the original carbon footings were prone to detaching from the ground, I decided to create a new design that combines both functions. The distance between the motor and the shield is 12mm, with Ø3mm holes for easy installation. This design is ideal for drones with 5-inch or smaller propellers (5045, 5030, etc.). The mount is specifically designed for a 250mm drone, ensuring a secure fit. The foot itself measures only 15mm in height, leaving about a centimeter of clearance beneath the model to maintain its lightness. Weighing only 20 grams for the four pieces, these printed parts are incredibly lightweight. To keep production costs low, it's not necessary to invest in high-quality prints or excessive filling; instead, focus on quickly replacing the parts after a crash. The estimated cost of producing these shields is approximately 0.87 euros for all four, making them an affordable solution compared to replacing propellers after a severe impact. Printed with PLA, these parts showcase the benefits of carbon-reinforced materials in reducing costs. I'm confident that this design will improve performance and durability. Future iterations may incorporate solidified feet for added stability; this concept is currently under consideration.
