A Comprehensive Propeller Motion Blur System To achieve smooth motion blur for propellers or rotors, you'll need a model and a set of textures. I've included a template to help you get started, along with instructions on how to create your own custom textures. Here's what you need to do: 1. Import the disc model into your project and parent it to the rotor head. Scale and rotate the disc to position it over the real rotors or propellers, then delete or hide the original props. 2. Make sure the disc doesn't cast a shadow unless you're using raytracing. On the file node, turn off any anti-aliasing, and ensure the material has no reflectivity or specularity. 3. I've provided eight different maps, each representing two color sets for 2-5 blades. If you want to create your own textures, follow these steps: 1. Modify the rotor model, duplicate it around the center, and take a top render with the hub as the center point. 2. Apply radial blur to this render, adjusting the settings to your liking. 3. Replace the texture with the blurred render. This method allows you to achieve quick rendered results without relying on heavy 3D motion blur. The template model is not designed for use on aircraft but serves as a tool for generating textures (combined with radial blur in Photoshop). Texture Details Eight specific textures are provided, covering 2, 3, 4, and 5 prop/rotor configurations. Two color variations are included.
