Prometheus System Improved Collet Locks
thingiverse
The original collets that came with the Prometheus System didn't provide me with reliable results. I had lost a few due to their inadequate security - they were wobbly and easily pushed out from the collets. To address this issue, I've designed improved locks that are 1.3mm thick instead of the original 1.2mm. This thicker design eliminates any wiggle room, ensuring a snug fit. The new locks also feature larger arcs at the opening, which securely hold onto the collet once it's properly installed. Printing the new design requires specific settings to achieve optimal results. Printing in Nylon is essential for its durability and flexibility. To get the desired 1.3mm layer height, you'll need to print with a 0.1mm layer height. This precise setting will help the new locks fit perfectly onto your collets. Installation is straightforward - simply force the lock onto the collet using sharp nose pliers or tweezers until it clicks into place.
