V-Ray Render and Materials Utilization V-Ray render and materials are exclusively used within 3ds max and FBX files. For all FBX scenes, material textures are stored within a master file known as maxzip. In order to apply these textures to other file formats such as FBX, OBJ, 3DS, DXF, or DWG, manual reapplication is necessary. All scene textures are systematically collected and organized in a designated root directory.
