Projector / Camera Mount

Projector / Camera Mount

This four degree of freedom mount was originally designed for a small LED projector, but its design made it easier to adjust finely than a ball mount. The extra DOF was necessary for my particular situation. I decided to build it around an "L" made of 1/2" copper pipe. The pipe clamps have some tolerance in them, so they are intended to be tight. By running the pipe through them a few times, the adjustment will become smoother (or use some sand paper). Carriage bolts, washers, and nuts tighten down the pipe clamps, while a socket head screw holds onto the projector (or camera or what-have-you). Adding some rubber or something else grippy to the projector mount will help keep it from rotating. Here's a picture of how the bolts should be oriented: orient the parts sideways so that the cross section of the pipe clamp areas are flat to the bed.
