Projectable Nightlight Guard

Projectable Nightlight Guard

thingiverse

This is a guard I built to keep my little one's fingers out of the electrical socket and avoid hurting themselves around the nightlight. We made the solar system design, but this will fit most similar night light models just as well. This does currently monitor the photodiode, but since mine uses LED, I'm not too concerned about it. If you're interested, I might look into directing the light to the photodiode using tunneling technology. Instructions You can print this guard with PLA or ABS – they should both work fine. Just consider whether your infill is strong enough against a determined toddler trying to pull out the nightlight. I decided on 100% fill to be safe. If you need extra support, grab a longer screw from a home improvement store and you're good to go. I've provided the FreeCAD source file so you can modify it easily as needed.
