Project WWII Russian Armored Train OB-3 part I scale 1:32
thingiverse
Hello. I'm excited to create a complete model of the Russian Armored Train OB-3 type in 1:35 scale - my first stage will be building it in 1:32 scale. Currently, I'm sharing just the top of the armored wagon. Unfortunately, I haven't found the platform design yet, so that will be my next step. Maybe someone can help me with this challenge! But don't worry, this isn't a simple garden model; I've already printed many 1:32 trains from Thingiverse models. I want to use my finished model alongside my WWII tanks in 1:35 scale. At the moment, I'd say my model is about 30% complete. I'll keep updating the files here as I make progress. Here's my plan: 1) Design and print a test version of the armored wagon, turret, gun, and platform. 2) Focus on designing the platform and printing it for testing purposes. 3) Work on small details and optimization, then print them for testing. 4) Optimize the 3D model for 3D printing and check for any errors. 5) Compare my model to photos and finalize its design. Unfortunately, I don't have enough photos yet to create an accurate scaled model. The first stage is complete! In the future, I might split the model into more parts to achieve better printing quality. This is actually my first shared model with the community, and it's also my first experience using Sketchup. I find Sketchup to be a very simple 3D program perfect for beginners like me. Maybe later I'll start using Fusion360, but for now, it seems too hard to understand.
