Hello everyone!As a way of celebrating the ending of Project Mehr coming in the new year… I’d like to make an exciting announcement!I am officially releasing my design files to the public for a limited time and starting a buildoff contest to see who can build the best version of this design.The files I’m releasing includes my original drop top design, as well as 2 alternate versions (solid body, and simple fillet). All of my sketches are included for those of you would like to do a more custom design.The file will not include: Toolpaths, animations, fixtures, hardware etc. (This is to be respectful to my Patreon members who have paid for the full version).Contest Info:Duration:January 1st 2022 – July 1st 2022. (6 months)Rules:1: All handmade, CNC, standard or bass guitars, are welcome2: You may use any hardware brands of your choosing, including bridges, tuners, pickups, jacks, pots, string gauges etc. 3: You may use any materials (wood, metal, resin etc..), paints, stains, or finish of your choosing. 4: All designs must keep the outer contour of the body faithful to the original, though size may vary to accommodate your creative changes. This ensures that the body is still identifiable as a Mehr design. However all other modifications are permitted including but not limited to: Bolt on / set / or through neck, relief cuts, headstock shape/size/angle, scale length, number of frets, fanned frets, number of strings, neck profiles, inlays etc...5: Any 3D design you create for this project must remain open source and available to the public on www.grabcad.com This ensures that the spirit of Mehr (i.e. sharing knowledge) is maintained. Prizes: The top 3 places will receive a special prize made by me (more details to come), as well as other prizes (working with vendors for sponsorships).How to submit your work:1.
