Project MagLev

Project MagLev

This is a modular Electromagnetic Levitation rail system (MagLev). This was my capstone project as an Engineering Physics Student majoring in electrical. This project was broken up into two main parts one being the hardware and the other software. What you will see here is the circuit design and components that was created inhouse from CNC milling to 3D printing. All parts were 3D printed using PLA except for the solenoid housing which was PETG.This project included integrated circuits which was created by milling PCB boards and soldering components along with low voltage high amps (12V 50A system). I would upload my eagle files but they are not supported here. An Arduino Mega 2564 was used as the controller for the relays, H-Bridges, and PWMs.Software used:SolidworksAutodesk EagleMultisimLinks to additional components used to help in this project:solenoid winder:solenoid winderAlso the finish Project did work. Keep in mind this is only 60% of the project and anyone interested should have a pretty good head start to building their own. There is one component I would suggest making thicker and that is the slides. When 3D printing the rails I used supports for the space the spacers go into and they were a pain to get the supports out cause I printed them so thin. I had weight and dimension limits.
