Project 69I-class battlecruiser
thingiverse
The model depicts Soviet battlecruiser of the Project 69I class with German 380mm guns. This project was approved in late 1940, the guns were ordered and paid, but not received. Though it looks simple at first glance, replacement of one main gun to another, in fact that wasn’t that easy. With new turrets there came new fire control systems, new searchlights, new seaplane cranes, etc. To accommodate all this equipment in real life major refits covered up to 40% of the ship’s length. In terms of the 3d game model I’ve made about two dozens of changes in practically every part of it except secondary armament. The model of the ship consists of 17 parts which are made to be printed in 1/2400 scale. I recommend to glue AA guns and seaplane cranes first, then 152mm guns and after that main guns and superstructure elements. The model was printed via Anycubic Mono 4K printer and painted by myself.
