PROFILE COPIER / CONTOUR GAUGE

PROFILE COPIER / CONTOUR GAUGE

Some time ago, I installed a parquet floor and had forgotten how tedious it was to take measurements for corner cuts and frame profiles. And then I discovered the profile copier or contour gauge, so instead of buying one, I decided to copy the tool and create it in 3D. The gauge itself allows you to measure over 13cm long and 6cm deep. This Profile Gauge is used to make a quick and accurate template of a profile (door frame, wall corner, heating pipe etc...) to transfer it to a tile, parquet or other surface. Profile can be marked on both sides and features clamping screws for profile locking. Small video of use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbDZv8zHXls All measurements take into account a printing tolerance of 0.4mm. For optimal operation of the profile copier, I recommend deburring each copier so that it slides as smoothly as possible between the outer and central sliders. You need 68 of them (I printed mine by 5). In order to insert the copiers on the central slide, they will have to be spread slightly apart; the PLA is flexible enough to insert all of them without breaking. Personally, with my settings, it took me a total of about 24 hours to print all the parts. Materials: 4 screws M3*20 + 4 nuts M3n Small update: Following a request, I added a new version of the external slides (reduction of the width and addition of graduations).
