I've decided to share my model with you after experimenting with a few options. It's easy to build, incredibly lightweight and fast to manufacture - it takes just 12 hours of printing time. I'm currently in the process of printing one myself and will update this thread as soon as it's completed. You'll be flying in the air within five short components. My goal is to make this model accessible to complete newcomers who want a beginner-friendly design. To that end, I'm providing step-by-step guides for the electronics and supply lists so you can get started with minimal investment. UPDATE 1: I've designed a simple plate that doubles as a mounting point for the legs, printed it twice to provide added stability, and secured the battery (located at the bottom), controller, and receiver in place using double-sided tape. The Sketchup file is available for anyone who wants to modify or improve on this design. UPDATE 2: Initially, I thought the copter would be composed of four main components, but after careful evaluation, it seems I'll need more parts than that. Still, I'm confident that my design offers unmatched stability and a robust structure, making it professional-grade by any standard. A structural engineer has reviewed the blueprint and endorsed its stability. I've included videos showcasing the copter's performance indoors to give you an accurate understanding of its flight dynamics and confidence in building this model yourself. Feel free to start printing parts; I'll post the full build manual and completion guide shortly. UPDATE (Oct 12th, 2014): Begin printing the components - after watching the updated videos today, I'm sure you'll gain a solid understanding of what it takes to assemble this copter. To provide more context, here's a video demonstrating its performance indoors: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCK355aMXZg
