UPDATED WITH IMPROVED CLEARANCE, COOLING AND ZIP TIE HOLDER ABSOLUTE ZERO OFFSET I recently upgraded my printer with a better cooling system and a zip tie holder, and I'm thrilled with the results. Now included are two new profiles for printing PLA: s3d fw and fff profile. I used to own an awesome printer from Profab, but it had one major flaw - excessive scattering noise from its cooling fan. The lack of effective cooling also made printing with PLA a nightmare. I experimented with various designs to resolve this issue, but nothing seemed to work for my printer. Frustrated, I decided to create a custom solution. Here's what I did: First, I rewired the existing fan to run constantly at 12v. Next, I connected the new radial fan to the old fan port. In my slicer, I set the fan to turn off after printing is complete. This prevents it from cooling too much and causing issues with the hotend. I printed this design in PLA, and it worked beautifully. I plan to try printing it with PETG, ABS, or ASA later, but for now, PLA is working great. This design requires minimal support and no rafts, assuming your printer is calibrated properly. The largest bridge distance is around 32mm. ABSOLUTE ZERO OFFSET Printer settings: Layer height: 0.2 Layer width: 0.5 Infill percentage: 30% Outline layers: 2 Top layer thickness: 0.5 Bottom layer thickness: 0.5 Please refer to the picture from S3D for correct placement. If you like this design, consider buying me a cup of coffee next time we meet.
