Product Remover
thingiverse
At times I've experimented with various build plate mods, hair spray, glue sticks, and other materials. Blue painters tape works well for some projects and filaments, but some blue tapes make it difficult to remove products from the build plate. A putty knife can be used if you can get it between the product and the build plate, but it's too thick. Several years ago I discovered that a utility knife blade can fit in between the product and the build plate just enough to aid in getting the putty knife under the blade and the product. However, getting the blade into that position took a bit of effort and hurt my fingertips. So I started working on a tool to aid in removing products from the build plate. This model is designed so that the bottom of the head lays flat on the build plate bed along with the edge of the blade, and it works quite well. It took me about 3 days to complete and is printed in four parts. No support was needed, and you can choose any parameters you like. I prefer first-layer settings at .3 mm, all others at .2 mm, and infill at 45%. Please let me know how this tool works for you. I used Design Spark Mechanical CAD software, which is extremely easy to learn and use. Happy printing! The screws are 4-2 mm x 8 mm and 1-3 mm x 30-35 mm.
